«UKROBORONPROM» REALIZES A POLICY ON ENHANCING OF QUALITY AND STANDARDIZATION IN THE FIELD OF PRODUCTION OF ARMAMENT AND MILITARY EQUIPMENT

Improving the quality management system, introducing new standards in production, including NATO standards, addressing systemic issues of the life cycle of weapons and military equipment as well as improving the qualifications of specialists in the field of quality, standardization and metrology, are the key components of the policy of the concern in the field of the production of armament. These and other issues were discussed during the scientific and practical seminar which took place at the State Enterprise "Malyshev Plant".

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the National Agency for Accreditation, research institutions, the Institute of Metrology, public organizations and forty enterprises that are part of the «UKROBORONPROM».

Thus the participants of the event consider it necessary together with the relevant structural units of the Ministry of Defense to identify and resolve the priority issues of standardization in the field of production and repair of armament and military equipment. First of all, this is about improving the order of presentation and satisfaction of the alleged claims of the customer of armament and military equipment, repaired by the enterprises of the concern. Also the mechanism for determining warranty obligations after the repair of equipment in the relevant contracts is required to be finalized.

According to the participants of the seminar, it is worth creating an electronic information database on quality, standardization and metrology in the field of manufacturing of armament and military equipment, in accordance with the existing opportunities of the concern companies. It should contain a list of standards, testing equipment, laboratories, etc. at the enterprises. Creation of such an information base will allow deepening internal cooperation and saving resources.

The seminar also addressed the question of conformity assessment of products manufactured in the framework of import substitution and standardization of import substitution procedures.

According to the results of the seminar, it is proposed to continue the practice of conducting trainings for specialists of enterprises participating in the concern on quality, standardization and other areas related to the production of weapons and equipment and the implementation of contracts.
